
About Me!


Dr. Stephanie Peborde Burke has been an educator since 2006 with experience teaching middle school, high school, and coaching teachers. She previously taught 6th Grade Science at Fox Lane Middle School, and Science Research at Fox Lane and Yorktown High Schools.
Dr. Burke then moved beyond the classroom to take on different instructional coaching roles. She first spent time as the K-12 DICE (Design, Innovation, Creation, and Expression) Facilitator at the Blind Brook-Rye Union Free School District where she ran the high school and middle school’s FabLab and supported K-12 teachers with experiential, hands-on learning in all content areas. Then she returned to Bedford/Fox Lane as the EdTech Specialist and STEAM Coach. Now, Dr. Burke serves as the K-12 Instructional Innovation Coach and Specialist in the Irvington Union Free School District. Her role can support, but is not limited to:
- Instructional Technology
- NYS Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards
- Creative and innovative teaching & learning
- K-12 experiential, hands-on, interdisciplinary experiences in all content areas
Dr. Burke has been involved with the Westchester and Science and Engineering Fair (WESEF) since its inception in 2001 and currently serves on its executive board as treasurer. She also served on the leadership committee for the Westchester-Rockland Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (WR-JSHS) from 2014-2024.
In May 2023, she graduated with her Ed.D. in Educational Technology Leadership from New Jersey City University. Her dissertation is titled, The Impact of a High School Maker Education Program on Student Interest in STEM Careers: A Mixed Methods Study. She has also presented on topics about Maker Education, creativity in the classroom, and AI.
Dr. Burke is a nature lover, birder, Geocacher, foodie, geek, and enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. As a maker herself, she enjoys being creative through arts and crafts and a variety of media, including 3D designing and printing.
